This announcement comes after he met the Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who is on a five-day state visit to India. Free E-Visas For Philippine Tourists
As per DD News, the Philippines announced visa-free entry to Indian tourists and is inviting them to visit the country to boost tourism. In response, on Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced free e-visas for the Philippines tourists.
PM Narendra Modi made this announcement in a joint press statement with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who is in India till August 8, 2025. Both leaders are looking forward to strengthening the ties between the two countries and encouraging tourism.
In the statement, the Indian Prime Minister said that India acknowledged the Philippines’ decision to offer visa-free entry to Indian tourists. In response, the country will be offering free e-visas to Filipino visitors. Moreover, the countries are also planning to launch direct flights connecting Delhi and Manila this year. President Marcos further expressed his gratitude for PM Modi’s decision.

Direct Flights Between Delhi and Manila
According to a Hindustan Times report, direct flights between Delhi and Manila are all set to start from October 1, 2025. Both countries are looking forward to the possibility of adding more flights on this route soon. This step will likely boost tourism, business, and strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Since the Philippines has announced visa-free entry for Indian tourists, bookings from India to the Philippines have risen by 60%. As per travel platform Atlys, it’s one of the top Southeast Asian destinations for Indians right now.
