This visa is designed for travellers who are looking to stay in this hidden gem of South America for longer than a vacation. Here’s everything you need to know.

Paraguay, located in central South America, is bordered by Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia. It is considered a laid-back destination for its rich nature and low cost. The country is also seen as safe and an offbeat destination for people looking to unwind away from crowds. Now, according to The Economic Times, Paraguay has introduced benefits for foreign investors who want permanent residency in the country.

They have introduced a new ‘Investor Pass’, also called a golden visa, designed for travellers who want to stay in Paraguay for longer. The process is simple. You invest in Paraguay and apply for permanent residency without going through a long visa process. According to Forbes, investors need to invest $150,000 (₹1,41,72,555 approx.) in tourism projects or $200,000 (₹1,88,94,920 approx.) in stocks or real estate to apply.

Visa Checks And Benefits

According to The Economic Times, the process can be a little lengthy. It includes background verification, declaration of fund sources, anti-money laundering checks and periodic monitoring of investments. The initiative aims to channel foreign interest into productive sectors and support economic development in Paraguay.
