Goa Joins Sadhguru’s Save Soil Campaign And Becomes 9th State To Join Movement

Land degradation, food security, soil infertility – a lot is happening to the earth now. So the Goa government has joined with Isha Outreach, an initiative of Sadhguru to conserve the soil in the state. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant signed an MoU with Sadhguru at an event in the presence of several other government dignitaries. With this, Goa has become the 9th state in the country to join the Save Soil movement, led by Sadhguru.

Goa Joins Save Soil Movement By Sadhguru

During the Save Soil event in Goa, Sadhguru handed a Save Soil policy handbook that offers governments solutions for saving soil. These solutions are practical and action-based, which can help converse soil of the nation. The policy handbook has been curated in a way that understands soil type, latitudinal positions, and agricultural traditions of the nation to help in conservation. The Goa government was all praises for Sadhguru, who had undertaken a motorcycle journey in 27 countries for the Save Soil movement. Sawant said the Goa government wants to support Sadhguru’s vision heartily, wherein he has rightly identified the threats to soil today.

We’ve Forgotten That Soil Is A Source Of Life: Sadhguru

During the save soil event in Goa, Sadhguru shared insightful words on how the world has forgotten where it has come from. He says that people have started to treat soil as a resource and not a source of life – which it is. Sadhguru went ahead and put across rhetoric, saying, ‘The body that you carry is soil, the clothes that you wear is soil…tell me one thing that is not soil.’ Further, he even said that if one treats a mother like a resource.

Sadhguru is the founder of the Isha Foundation, with which he is on a mission ‘to offer the science of inner wellbeing to every human being.’
