When a film comes out of nowhere and stirs the entire country into feeling something again, it is an iconic cinematic moment. Saiyaara, a debut-heavy romantic drama from Yash Raj Films, isn’t merely a hit but it’s stringing the right chords with our country’s obsession with romance. But this film is winning hearts for more than its actors and music! It’s use of India’s iconic locations is a hit too.
Saiyaara Strikes A Chord With Romance Lovers
Directed by Mohit Suri, who knows his way around pain, melody, and longing, the film stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in performances that have turned wide-eyed newcomers into overnight stars. Ahaan plays Krish Kapoor, a musician with more music in his silences than most albums while Aneet, as Vaani Batra, balances fire and fragility with stunning clarity. Together, they don’t just play lovers but allow the whole country to live their passionate story.
Saiyaara opened to ₹83 crore in its first weekend! Critics called it emotionally sincere while fans immediately labelled it as “theirs.” Songs from the film have already crept into everyday life.

Saiyaara’s Filming Locations
In addition to its music and actors, Saiyaara’s locations are also awe-striking to its viewers. The movie, with its use of two iconic and crowd-favourite spots of the nation, feels relatable and cherishable to many in this romance saga.
The first is the postcard-perfect white church in Panaji, Goa. You must have seen it on the Internet as it is an Instagram-favourite spot. The Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church has stood watch over the city since the 1600s with its double staircase climbing up like something from a dream. In Saiyaara, Krish (Ahaan) is seen standing on top of a bus while a dense, cheering crowd spills across the street below. The shot looks grand, chaotic, and full of unexplainable energy.
And then there’s CST: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, or Mumbai’s living, beating heart. Shot on location, it captures Krish and Vaani on a motorbike as they ride through the streets clinging to each other in the most adorable fashion. Its the kind of passionate scene that feels destined to be rewatched.

Both locations have long played supporting roles in Indian cinema, and Saiyaara gives them a quiet kind of reverence. So yes, Saiyaara is a love story, but it’s also a reminder that sometimes, the places we pass through every day are deeply sacred to our memory and even the nation’s collective memory.
