Coronavirus has affected the health and well being of many people across the world and also badly affected the travel and tourism industry. Flights are being cancelled due to travel advisory issued by countries and many employees working with certain flights are being urged to go for unpaid leave for the next few months. Amidst all this coronavirus scare, the good news is that budget carrier, GoAir will not be charging cancellation fee on tickets booked till 30th April. This applies to all bookings which are made between March 8 and April 30 and the travel period between March 8 and September 30, as well.

The airlines, GoAir said in a statement that it will not charge any fee on cancellation or rescheduling of tickets booked till April 30 amid the coronavirus scare. The airlines further stated that this applies to all bookings which are made between March 8 and April 30 and for the travel period between March 8 and September 30. As per GoAir, you can avail this zero cancellation and rebooking fee offer if this was done up to 14 days before departure.
This move by GoAir came a day after IndiGo announced waiving of rescheduling charges on tickets which were booked between March 12 and March 31 for both its international and domestic flights. But IndiGo did not give the option of cancellation for its customers. But GoAir also stated that the customers will have to pay the fare difference when rescheduling a flight.

Jeh Wadia, Managing Director of GoAir stated that they have looked at what could be going on in the customer’s mind right now, especially when it comes to the prevailing uncertainty. He further added that the freedom to reschedule flight tickets without any strings attached seems to be the biggest concern of customers. So now, this concern has been met by GoAir, as customers can now freely cancel or reschedule their booking without worrying about any cancellation fee.
