The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has been the talk of the town for ages. Indians have been anticipating its unveiling for a long time now. Now that the prestigious and legendary temple is open to the public, people throughout the country cannot wait for its darshan. Seeing this, the Chhattisgarh government has approved a travel scheme which will allow 20,000 people each year to travel to Ayodhya by train for free on a pilgrimage!

According to an article which was recently published by The Week, the Chhattisgarh government, on Wednesday, took the decision to approve the annual free train scheme. Under this scheme, people between the ages of 18 and 75, who are medically fit, are eligible to travel.
Vishnu Deo Sai, who is the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, made this announcement. The scheme will enable the transportation of around 20,000 people yearly to Ayodhya Pilgrimage for free. In the first leg of the scheme, people over the age of 55 will be eligible for travel.
In order to select eligible persons, a committee will be set up under the collector in each district. Surely, given the popularity of this legendary temple, many people will benefit from such a scheme.

The special train can be boarded from the railway stations in Ambikapur, Durg, Raigarh and Raipur. The primary and most important destination of this journey would be Ayodhya. This journey would be 900 kilometres long.
It will also make a halt in Varanasi where pilgrims can have the darshan of Kashi Vishwanathan and partake in Ganga Aarti.
