A draft policy of passenger rights gives a detailed account of revised guidelines which has been released by The Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Now you won’t have to pay any cancellation fee if you cancel your booking on the same day.! The airline as well can no longer cancel flights at a short notice. In such an event, a full refund to the passengers is to be initiated.
Moreover, it is common for airlines to overbook their flights due to which certain passengers are denied entry for no fault of theirs! This too has been remedied and alternate flights will have to be arranged for no extra cost.
What Else?
Along with the application of the revised guidelines, airlines will also have to arrange for light snacks in the light of prolonged waiting periods for passengers. They will also be liable for compensation in case of any injury sustained by passengers as well as loss or damage to baggage.
