The plans are to increase the train speed up to 130 km/h in the Gorakhpur-Barachak section of the Gorakhpur-Barabanki line, according to a report by News 18. This line between Gorakhpur and Barabanki is falling on North Eastern Railway’s Lucknow Division. The bidding process of this tender is going to commence by the end of this month. And to increase the speed on this specified section, the plan is to do fencing along the train track.

A ministry official stated how this rise in sectional speed can help in reducing the total travel time of several trains on this route by about half an hour. This significant drop in time taken to complete the journey will be dependent on the destination and train as well. The official further added that the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will also cut its travel time. The fencing will play a major impact in this decrease in travel time. Another significant advantage of fencing along the track will be ending the unfortunate accidents of cattle on the route.
