Gujarat witnessed a massive tourist influx during the recent Diwali holiday season. As per reports, the state welcomed more than 60 lakh tourists in just 20 days, showcasing the state’s ever-growing tourism infrastructure and appeal. Gujarat Witnessed Record Tourist Influx This Holiday Season
From rich cultural heritage to scenic natural sites, Gujarat has it all in abundance! And it looks like people are realising the state’s appeal as a tourist destination as well. According to the Hindustan Times, Gujarat welcomed 61.70 lakh visitors from October 26 to November 15, 2024. During the Diwali holiday season, tourists visited several prominent pilgrimage sites as well as popular destinations in the state.
16 popular destinations and sites in Gujarat drew tourists’ attention this holiday season. As per reports, the Dwarka Temple recorded the highest footfall with more than 13 lakh visitors during this time period. The second destination that attracted the most number of tourists was Ahmedabad’s Kankaria Lake. As many as 5.50 lakh visitors visited the famous lake during the holiday season.
Gujarat also recently hosted a series of G-20 meetings under India’s presidency. These meetings were organised at world-class venues like Dhordo in Kutch and the Statue of Unity, giving the delegates a chance to experience the state’s rich cultural heritage.
