Gulmarg Winter Festival Hosts Bollywood Stars Like Vidya Balan & Arbaaz Khan

Time and again, Bollywood directors have chosen Kashmir as the filming ground for many of their movies, thanks to its picturesque landscapes. The shooting of many popular movies like Highway, Phantom, Fitoor, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Raazi, Haider, 3 Idiots and more happened in Kashmir. “We will bring Kashmir back to the film industry the way it was in 1960s,” said film producer Siddharth Roy Kapur on his recent visit to Kashmir, during the Gurmarg Winter Festival 2021. The three-day festival which took place from February 6, 2021, saw the presence of Bollywood celebrities like Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan and Arbaaz Khan.

Gulmarg Winter Festival Showcased Kashmiri Culture, Cuisine And Artworks

The Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department organised the Gulmarg Winter Festival 2021. The festival aimed at giving a boost to the tourism sector of Kashmir. It also allowed local artists to showcase their talents. The festival brought to the light the amazing Kashmiri cuisines and handicrafts. According to a BW Businessworld report, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Dragger Division Virender Vats has said, “We are happy that friends from film industry Arbaaz Khan, Vidya Balan and film producer Siddharth Roy graced the occasion and provided the encouragement to the local youth.” Meanwhile, did you know that India’s first Igloo Cafe is in Gulmarg?

The Celebrities Ushered Praises On Kashmir’s Splendour

Thanking the Indian Army, actor Arbaaz Khan said, “I feel very unfortunate to have not visited the most beautiful place before. Kashmir is truly amazing…. With a great atmosphere here more people will come for shooting films. Everything here is very safe and secure because of the Indian Army.” Actress Vidya Balan said, “I have travelled almost all the parts of the world but never got to see and witness such an amazing place like Kashmir.”

Vats added, “The enthusiastic participation witnessed will go a long way in sending a message that Kashmir has emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic and is ready to welcome the tourists once again.
