Hamburg Airport in Germany is one of the bustling airports in Europe. Unfortunately, it came to a sudden halt after a terror attack threat on a plane recently. With not a single departure or arrival, the airport was completely at pause for some time on October 9, 2023. Gladly, the operations at the airport have resumed once again. Here’s all you need to know about everything that happened there.
Why Did Hamburg Airport Halt All Flight Operations For Some Time On Monday?
It was 12:40 PM when all the flight services came to an absolute standstill at this German airport. All these operations were paused at the airport for about one and an hour, shared officials, according to a report by abc News. The authorities got a threat to a flight and hence the decision was taken. The threat of an attack on the plane turned out to be a scary chaos at the airport with suspending flights. In fact, some scheduled flights on their way to Hamburg were diverted to some other locations. A proper investigation took place after the news of the attack threat on a flight.

Flight Operations Have Resumed Later
After the suspension of all flights, all the services resumed once again after some time. Hamburg Airport made the announcement of restarting all its operations on its official website. While making the announcement, the airport authorities also added that there might be some flight delays as well. The plane was searched properly. Even the passengers and the crew members were checked thoroughly during the probe.
The bags were checked as well. This flight was actually from Tehran. It landed at 12:20 PM and was carrying 198 passengers along with 16 members of the crew. After the investigation process, the airport started providing services to passengers.

The Federal Police received an email mentioning the terror threat. The threat was indicated on a flight between Tehran and Hamburg. Right after receiving the mail on Monday morning, they began taking necessary action.
Finally, after all the chaos, tension, and the long process of investigation at the airport, the flight operations are in action.
