Celebrating Hampi At The Hampi Utsav 2025
The heritage town of Hampi, Karnataka, celebrates the magnificent Hampi Utsav, which features a beautiful blend of art and history. The magnificent ruins of Hampi are well-known and bear witness to its former splendour. In front of its stunning structures, the town comes alive with traditional dance, music, and other entertainment during the Hampi festival. Hampi is undoubtedly a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The festival is taking place from February 28 to March 02 this year. In order to prep for the festival, Deputy Commissioner M.S. Diwakar and the relevant officials frequently travel to Hampi. To symbolise the splendour of the Vijayanagara Empire, a large stage would be erected adjacent to the Gayathri Peetha.
The splendour of the Vijayanagara Empire is celebrated via artistic and cultural endeavours. For a captivating experience, Hampi’s landmarks, including the temples of Vittala and Virupaksha, will be illuminated at night.
Here Is Everything You Can Do At The Festival
To inspire the guests, the Hampi festival will feature a variety of cultural events. Bharatnatyam, Carnatic music, and other traditional dance and musical acts are anticipated. Yakshagana and other Karnataka folk art forms will be on display for visitors. Janapada Kalavahini will showcase the state’s culture and traditions by singing songs and performing folk dances.
During the Hampi festival, puppet shows are set to captivate the audience by enacting historical and mythological tales and scenarios. Using a variety of poses, a mass yoga event is likely to excite and involve the audience, too. One intriguing aspect of the Hampi celebration will be the Jumbo Savari, a magnificent royal elephant parade. Elephants will be part of the procession, along with singers and other artists who will evoke the past.
At the 2025 Hampi Utsav, guests will be entertained with a vintage car rally. Additionally, this year’s festival will feature bike stunt acts, giving it a contemporary feel. March 1st and 2nd are probably the dates when national and international stunt performers will display their skills.
‘Hampi by Sky’ is also being introduced by the administration. From helicopters, visitors may observe the imposing ruins and the celebrations of the Hampi festival. At Kamalapur Lake, the administration also gets ready for water sports and boating.
