In a lovely little village named Basgaon in Nainital, an Uttarakhand native, Kriti Bisht and Ashish Godara have been building a stone house for three years. This year they with open hearts decided to open this house for guests and named it Slowness Himalayas.

Slowness Himalayas Homestay is that one place where you can experience tranquillity in the embrace of nature. The house is built with inspiration from Kumaoni architecture with cement and brick used the least. Yes the house is built using stone masonry using sustainable materials like dry stacked stone, mud and lime. There is a small cavity on the roof made specially for birds to build their nest in. The curtains that the rooms feature are dyed with pomegranate peel and dyed with kala cotton. The house features 4 cosy rooms with minimal furniture. The windows allow you a mesmerising view of the Mount Trishul and Panchachuli peaks.

Embrace The Nature Around You
If you are wondering about food, all the meals(vegetarian) at Slowness Himalayas are prepared by a cook. An exception in vegetarian meals here is eggs. You will be served delicious local cuisine which is simple and super nourishing. The homestay offers a Moon cafe which is a dining space on a spacious terrace, hammocks and an open seating area. You will be waking up to the soothing sound of chirping birds and then you can go on a walk in the village. The hosts can also explain to you about natural dyes and clay pottery. You can go for hikes or visit waterfalls which are just some minutes away from the homestay.
