If you are from West Bengal, you might be experiencing unbearable heat at the moment. Most parts of the state are sizzling due to a noticeable rise in temperature this year. While most districts are seeing the mercury hitting 40°C, the temperature is going beyond 40°C in some districts of South West Bengal. It was about 44°C to 45°C a couple of days back in a few districts. With this intolerable jump in heat, tourists are flocking to Darjeeling to enjoy some respite.

Tourists Are Heading to Darjeeling As A Temporary Break From The Heat

Most parts of West Bengal are getting severely affected by heatwaves. Stepping outside feels like getting hit by a rush of hot wind sizzling the entire body. The hot weather is leading to health issues like dry skin and dehydration. There is a never-ending desire to quench one’s thirst all the time. From Kolkata to Nadia, several districts are witnessing the harsh effects of the summer season. Unfortunately, the weather is worsening in Bankura, Paschim Medinipur, Paschim Bardhaman, Birbhum, and more districts in South West Bengal.

Amid these scary and alarming days, people are planning short trips to find some relief from the extreme heat. Darjeeling has always been a favourite destination for residents of West Bengal and the hill station is currently witnessing an epic rise of visitors from all around. This scenic destination always sees a major demand during the summer holiday season. However, it looks like the peak holiday season has already started in Darjeeling, seeing the number of travellers heading there now.

If you also have plans to travel to this hill station, book hotels ASAP as hotel bookings are clearly skyrocketing with a spectacular uptick in demand. Most parts of Darjeeling are completely packed with visitors. From hotels to restaurants to drivers to shopkeepers in bustling places, the locals are indeed doing great business, thanks to the influx of travellers. According to a report by The Indian Express, finding hotels to book is getting more difficult.

Why Is This Hill Station So Famous?

Travelling to Darjeeling is simple as there are trains easily available from Howrah and Sealdah railway stations. An overnight journey on the train followed by a cab is enough to head to this alluring place. Seeing the significant rise in demand, getting a train ticket for the next few weeks can be difficult.

If you wish to travel to Darjeeling but do not get train tickets, board a bus to Siliguri and then travel to the hill station in a cab. The temperature is somewhere between a minimum of 14°C to a maximum of 22°C in this destination right now. It is not all cold or hot and simply pleasant to enjoy a serene holiday.
