Here’s All About The Massive Fire That Broke Out In Dubai’s Deira Area

Generally, people do their best to avoid any kind of mishap, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. Something similar happened in Dubai’s Deira area where a fire broke out in a lowrise building. This happened at noon time on Saturday and this resulted in the death of many people and some were injured as well. Here’s everything you need to know about the tragic fire incident.

16 Killed & 9 Injured In Deira Fire

According to a news report by The National News, 16 people died and nine people were injured as a result of the massive fire. This incident happened on Saturday, April 15, when a crew of firefighters reached the scene at 12:41 PM, which was approximately six minutes after the first emergency call was received. It is worth noting, that the fire broke out in the Al Ras area where the Old Deira Market is located. Moreover, according to the statement of the Dubai Civil Defence, this fire happened on the fourth floor of the building. As such, according to preliminary investigations, there was a lack of compliance with building security and safety requirements!
This is also believed to be the cause of the fire that killed and injured money.

Dubai Civil Defence Teams Arrived 6 Mins After First Emergency Call

It’s worth noting, that this is a five-storey low-rise building that is located just off Al Khaleej Street. So, once the Dubai Civil Defence teams arrived at the site, they started the extinguishing and evacuation operations immediately. As it happens, the operations room was informed about the fire at 12:35 PM and teams from Port Saeed Fire Station and Hamriyah Fire Station were sent to the location. It’s also watch noting that this fire was brought under control at 2:42 PM and thereafter, cooling operations had begun.

At the moment, victims are being recognised and so far only some of them have been identified. For now, this site has been transferred to the concerned authorities so that they can undertake further procedures. It is because of such incidences, that makes it is important for people to follow all the necessary safety guidelines!
