Here’s What To Expect From Your Next Salon Visit In Dubai

The pandemic has led us to accept and live with a host of changes. From looking up creative ways to workout while indoors to learning new recipes, we’ve discovered a lot of things during the pandemic. And, along with these, we’ve also realized and missed our beautician and beauty routines. Haven’t we?

Whether its trimming our brows, enjoying a facial or a hair spa, there’s a whole lot of beauty services we’ve had to forgo due to the pandemic. Thankfully, Dubai has eased restrictions now and salons in the city are welcoming guests. However, a few services like waxing, threading and facials still remain off the menu. But, with malls and offices beginning to operate at full capacity, salons have also expanded services.

Here’s what a visit to the salon will be like:

1. What Services Are Now Open?

Dubai salons offer hair cuts, colour and nail services. In addition, as per a notice by the Dubai Municipality, salons can now offer waxing, tanning and threading treatments while running at a 50 per cent capacity. Kozma & Kozma, Tips & Toes and Pastels offer these services currently.

2. What Safety Precautions Are In Place?

Customers must wear facemask at all times. The mask can however be lowered during services like trimming hair behind the ears, beard shave etc for a short while. Customers must undergo temperature checks on arrival and chairs and tables must be sanitized after and before every use. Waiting areas will also remain closed and no walk-ins will be permitted. Some salons have also put social distancing stickers to remind customers. In addition, cash-free payment methods are encouraged to avoid contact in any form.

3. What’s Still Banned?

Waxing and threading might be back on the menu, but massages, hammams, saunas and spas remain closed. Also, customers will not be given any books or magazines when in the salon.

4. What Age Groups Are Permitted?

While kids under 12 years and adults above 60 are not permitted in malls, they can visit salons. However, every adult can be accompanied only by one child and the adult must be over 60 years of age.
