Hyderabadi Biryani is arguably the most famous variation of biryani there is. But how would you feel if we told you that you could consume it in chai form? Yes, we’re not kidding. As a matter of fact, this is one of the latest trends in the City of Pearls, Hyderabad.

A number of shops have opened up throughout town which are selling this new concoction. The chai actually does not involve rice or protein, but it is only named so because it has a lot more spices than your regular masala chai.

The way to make biryani tea is very simple. You make it in a similar way that you make your other tea. When the tea is cooking, you add all the spices that go into biryani, to this tea.

So, in addition to strong tea, you add bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cardamom, black pepper, poppy seeds, fennel seeds, nutmeg, and cloves into your tea.

Let that cook for a while and then add milk. After the tea is done cooking, you take it off the stove and relish it with your favourite tea-time snack.
