The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely cold day conditions for the next two days, meaning that the northern area will continue to experience severe cold weather with little sign of relief. It has also predicted rainfall in about seven states and hailstorms in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. 

IMD Predicts Hailstorm In MP, Rajasthan

According to the IMD forecast, extremely heavy fog and extremely chilly daytime temperatures are expected for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan during the next two days. 

According to the IMD, there is a high probability of cold day to severe cold day conditions continuing in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan from January 7 to 8. In addition to the extreme cold, there is a good chance of new rain across Northwest and Central India over the next two to three days. 

IMD predicts that between January 8 and January 10, showers, thunderstorms, or hailstorms are probable over Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. On January 8 and 9, the IMD predicted light rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. 

It’s also possible that more rain showers may fall over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and northern Maharashtra over the next two days. Kerala and Tamil Nadu have been alerted to severe rainfall by the IMD.  (As per Zee News)

22 Trains Affected Because Of Severe Fog In Delhi

Over the next three to five days, isolated areas of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are predicted for Kerala and Tamil Nadu’s coastal regions. On January 7, isolated, extremely heavy rainfall is predicted for north-coastal Tamil Nadu, according to IMD’s weather report. 

On Sunday, there was shallow fog in several areas of Delhi, which affected at least 22 trains and caused traffic problems. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there could be light rain on Tuesday and a cloudy sky during the upcoming week. There will also likely be shallow to moderate fog. 

Fog conditions in Delhi and other states on Sunday caused at least 22 trains headed for Delhi to be delayed by one to six hours, according to Indian Railways. According to the IMD, Monday’s temperatures in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are expected to stay chilly to extremely cold with a subsequent decrease.
