In A Bid To Promote Winter Sports, J&K’s Kishtwar Hosts Mega Snow-Skiing Event

In a bid to promote winter sports and adventure tourism in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, a snow-skiing event was held. This amazing and thrilling event was hosted at the scenic Sinthan on Sunday. More than fifty experienced skiers participated in the exciting event. This included eager trainees from the Jawahar Institute of Monitoring and Winter Sports, according to the organizers. Here’s more about the snow-skiing event.

With a recent massive snow skiing event in the well-known Sinthan Valley generating attention and excitement, Kishtwar Valley, Jammu and Kashmir, has emerged as promising adventure destination. The event took place in the scenic surroundings of Sinthan, District Kishtwar, with the goal of promoting adventure tourism and winter sports.

The noteworthy aspect of the event was the noteworthy proportion of female participants, which underscores the increasing interest and engagement of women in winter sports. Kishtwar is a hidden treasure with loads of potential for winter sports and adventure tourism. The event that took place on Sunday is a testament to young people’s talent and zeal. 

District officials stated that this focus on promoting female involvement highlighted the value of gender parity in adventure sports and encouraged women in the area to participate in winter sports.

Providing Facilities & Support

According to Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Devansh Yadav, they are providing the facilities and support required to make Kishtwar a well-known winter sports destination. 

According to the organizers, the snow-skiing competition was an amazing display of ability as competitors skied down Kishtwar’s powder-soft slopes. The organisers mentioned that witnessing season skiers and newbies together was very encouraging. 

In an effort to draw tourists, the Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) has previously launched a variety of adventurous activities. It also came up with new tourist spots. During this year’s authority officials’ meeting, the majority of discussions were about developing Kishtwar’s winter sports potential. The aim also included fostering local talent and providing youngsters with winter sports possibilities. (As per ET Travel World)

A Hidden Treasure With Lots Of Potential 

Jammu & Kashmir’s  Kishtwar is a hidden treasure with tons of potential for winter sports and adventure travel. 

A number of organizations, notably the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, which trained and prepared the competitors, supported the event. 

In an effort to increase adventure and religious tourism, investigate unusual locations, and improve visitor amenities, the authorities have been actively working. They have been working on training local youngsters to become tour guides and replicating effective strategies from other states.

A local government representative emphasized the necessity of utilizing the unrealized potential of Kishtwar’s winter sports. They are looking at developing local talent and providing opportunities for our youth in winter sports.
