The data for this was collected by The Indian Express under the Right To Information or RTI Act. Information received by them indicated that the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut route witnesses an average of 2,900 passengers daily.
As per an NCRTC official cited in their article, most of the passengers were from either Sahibabad who were heading to Duhai or the other way around. NCRTC stands for the National Capital Region Transport Corporation.
The official went on to say that the actual ridership will only become clear once the next stage of the corridor becomes operational. This next stage is a section that stretches across 25 kilometres to Meerut South.

According to an article which was recently published by The Indian Express, more than 2.79 lakh passengers have used this rail service since its inception. The official also went on to say that this current stretch of RRTS was not made operational from a ridership point of view.
The stretch is quite small and as per the official’s statement, the service is primarily used by a number of school and college-going students. But once the section is extended till Meerut, it is hoped that even more people will use the service.
