The National Highway Authority of India sets a ‘Guinness World Record’ by laying and constructing a continuous 75km long road within just 5 days. NHAI created the outstanding Guinness world record by constructing the bituminous concrete on the section of NH-53 between Amravati and Akola. This section of Amravati to Akola is also an important East-West corridor. They completed the project of this newly constructed road of NH 35 in just 105 hours and 33 minutes.
NHAI Entered The Guinness World Records Very Recently
The entire construction took 800 employees of NHAI and 720 people from a private company. In fact, many consultants tagged along with these employees to wrap up the project in under 5 days. They began the construction at 7:27 am on 3 June and finished it by 5 pm on 7 June 2022.
The Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the brilliant news and achievement of NHAI and also congratulated everyone associated with this construction of the 75 km-long highway. He shared the news on his official Twitter handle and spread the achievement to the world.

Also, he shared that this single-lane continuous bituminous concrete road is actually equivalent to a 2-Lane Paved shoulder road of 37.5 Km each.

Gadkari also tweeted that the entire project took a record time of 105 hours and 33 minutes to build the bituminous concrete in a single lane.

This section is a major boost in connecting big cities such as Kolkata, Raipur, Nagpur, Akola, Dhule, and also Surat.
