Authorities recommended that citizens should exercise caution, be vigilant and observe safety measures that the authorities of the UAE have issued. The recommendation is timely because air transport in many of the Gulf countries has been disrupted by developments in the region.
According to the report of The Times of India, the notice issued by the embassy in Abu Dhabi requested the Indian citizens to calm down and avoid needless movement, and to only use official communication channels to provide an update.
Advisory Released As Tensions Grow In The Region
The recent guideline is in the wake of the increased geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. In the Gulf, travel disruptions and flight changes have been caused by the military activity and security alerts in some of the parts of the region. Airlines have already rescheduled to meet the requirements and safety measures of the airspace.
Regardless of the circumstances, the everyday life in the largest cities of the UAE, e.g., Dubai and Abu Dhabi is proceeding relatively normally, albeit with the government paying close attention to changes.
One Of The Largest Indian Communities Overseas
The warning is particularly necessary as the UAE is one of the most significant Indian communities in the world. Over 3.5 million Indians are working and living in the country, and it is a substantial portion of the workforce and community in the UAE.
Considering the prevailing circumstances in the area, the Indian officials claim that the precautionary notice will serve the best interest in the welfare and security of their residents.
Officials also advised residents to avoid disseminating unverified information on social media, as rumours might lead to unnecessary panic.
