During her sleepover-style conversation with Anushka Sen on Hauterrfly, the discussion bounced from dating and insecurities to family stories, food habits, and fitness routines. Somewhere between the smoothies and the secrets came a question people have probably wanted to ask Krishna for years: how exactly did she get those abs?
The answer wasn’t what most people would expect. Krishna Shroff admitted she’s never been the person knocking out a thousand crunches before breakfast or ending every gym session with endless sets of leg raises. In fact, she doesn’t spend nearly as much time training abs directly as people assume. The visible core, she explained, is more of a side effect than the goal itself.
What she does spend time on is lifting heavy. Squats, hip thrusts and strength work; these are the kind of exercises she does to get a strong core.

According to Krishna Shroff, people often underestimate how much the core is working during these movements.
Of course, she was quick to point out that the gym is only half the story. You can deadlift impressive numbers and squat heavy weights, but if your nutrition is all over the place, the results may never show.
“Abs are made in the kitchen.” Krishna Shroff echoed the old saying without hesitation. Strength training helped build the muscle, she explained, but nutrition played an equally important role. Looking after what goes on the plate matters just as much as what happens in the gym.
