From learning about the Qureshis’ culinary legacy to playing a fun game of ‘Delhi vs Mumbai’, we had a gala time with Huma. During the conversation, Huma Qureshi even revealed why she chooses Delhi’s Chole Bhature over Mumbai’s Vada Pav.
Huma Qureshi Plays ‘Delhi Vs Mumbai’ With Curly Tales
After a delicious meal at Saleem’s with Huma Qureshi and her dad, Saleem Qureshi, our next stop was Anupama Sweets. At Anupama Sweets, as Huma Qureshi gorged on Kalakand, we played a fun game of ‘Delhi vs Mumbai’ with her.
First, we asked her to pick between winters in the capital vs monsoons in India’s financial capital. “Winters in Delhi. Anyday!” she replied. Huma replied she was tired of the never-ending monsoons in Mumbai.
South Delhi’s cafes or Bandra’s coffee spots, was the next statement. To this, Huma Qureshi said that she likes Mumbai’s healthy cafes that give a healthy spin on her favourite dishes. “Bandra has so many of them (healthy cafes). I always go there to pick up coffee or a healthy cookie.”
Next, we asked her to choose between Delhi’s wide roads and parks vs Mumbai’s sea view. Huma picked the former. Night out at Hauz Khas vs night drive at Marine Drive? The actress went for the Mumbai alternative.

Chooses Butter Chicken Over Pav Bhaji
“Delhi ke Chole Bhature ya Mumbai ka Vada Pav?” we asked her next. “Delhi ke Chole Bhature,” she said, scrunching her face. Giving a visual clue on how tough it was to choose between the two. “Bhatura is a magical thing. Alag hi nashe hai bhature mein.” Initially, when she shifted to Mumbai, the Delhiite missed Delhi ka khaana. But now she admits to having found her spots at restaurants and people’s homes.
Another food question was thrown at her. Delhi’s Butter Chicken or Mumbai’s Pav Bhaji. The Gangs of Wasseypur actress said, “This is unfair. I have spent my childhood in Delhi. So, I have an emotional association with Butter Chicken that no other dish can fulfil.” Next, we asked her to choose between shopping in Sarojini Nagar vs Bandra’s Hill Road.

Once again, the Delhiite chose the Delhi alternative. Out of Mumbai and Delhi, which city feels like home for Huma? Surprisingly, the Delhiite chose Mumbai because she has been living in Mumbai for the past 12-14 years. To date, she has this bindaas attitude from Delhi that she carries everywhere with her.
