Pookie Baba Explains Why Anger Is Not Always Wrong

Set inside the peaceful Gauri Gopal Ashram in Vrindavan, the episode saw Kamiya Jani spend time with Swami Aniruddhacharya Ji and immerse in the rhythms of the ashram. They met over 300 vridh matajis, sat down for a satvik bhojan, which is simple food served with sincerity, and witnessed the working of the Akhand Rasoi, where meals are prepared continuously in the spirit of seva. It was the kind of setting that makes even silence feel meaningful.

Then came the question people often ask spiritual figures because they assume sainthood means zero irritation: Kabhi kabhi toh gussa aata hoga?

Pookie Baba did not pretend to be above human emotion. He answered plainly; he does not get angry without a cause. If there is a cause, anger can arise. And then he said something worth sitting with; anger is not always negative.

To explain, he turned to the Mahabharata. During the moment when Draupadi was being dishonoured and her saree was being pulled, he referred to Bhishma Pitamah and the idea that anger in the face of injustice is not wrong. Sometimes outrage is the correct moral response. If nobody burns at cruelty, what does that silence say?

Why Pookie Baba Says Some Anger Is Necessary

His real criticism was reserved for modern habits. Today, people explode where patience is needed and stay strangely calm where courage is required. He compared anger to fire and calmness to water. Fire cannot put out fire. If the person in front of you is raging and you become their mirror, the room only gets hotter. 

And maybe that was the sharpest takeaway from the episode; not every emotion needs suppression, but every emotion needs direction. In an age of reactions, that sounds almost radical.
