What Imtia Ali Feels About People In The Entertainment Industry?

In the Sunday Brunch episode, Kamiya Jani asked Vedang Raina and Sharvari whether they have ever been to a job interview. The question came up because in Imtiaz Ali’s films, characters are often shown leaving their jobs, for example, in “Tamasha.”

Responding to this, Vedang revealed that during COVID, he started looking for job placements and was also planning to pursue an MBA. When asked if acting was never in his plans, he shared that he had been giving auditions for two years, but nothing worked out. He added that if The Archies had not happened, he would have gone ahead with an MBA.

Sharvari then shared that during Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, she once had a conversation with director Luv Ranjan. She mentioned to him that she did not know much at the time, and he suggested she work as a director’s assistant to learn the process. Kamiya Jani also asked Imtiaz Ali about how his films often show characters leaving their jobs. To this, Imtiaz said, “Everyone in the film industry is a drifter and a dreamer,” which is why they connect so easily.

As the interview continued, Sharvari and Vedang revealed that they are big foodies. Sharvari also mentioned that she often goes to Imtiaz Ali for food recommendations and that before a film, she once spent nearly one and a half hours talking to him only about food.

Later, all four of them enjoyed sooji ke golgappe with spicy water. Vedang noticed that Kamiya calls it golgapa and asked how it’s different from pani puri. To this, Kamiya Jani explained that puris made with sooji are called golgappa. They also enjoyed some authentic Punjabi food during the conversation, like kulcha, phirni, sabzi, roti, rice, gulab jamun and more.
