If there is one thing the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein made clear, it is that Parsi family conversations may come with a slightly unexpected vocabulary. Nauheed Cyrusi was the guest on the episode, where she spoke about growing up Parsi, her upbringing and life in the Parsi neighbourhood. She was joined by her mother, and the conversation eventually turned into a game involving Mumbaiya slang. And somewhere between guessing words, her mother dropped a revelation that probably had everyone listening twice.

Nauheed Cyrusi Says MC & BC Are Common Parsi Gaalis

According to her, MC and BC are among the most common gaalis used in the Parsi language. Nauheed’s reaction was even better. She seemed genuinely surprised that this was news to anyone, basically asking, “Don’t you know this?” Because according to her, gaalis are not some occasional addition to a conversation. They are part of the language itself.

And apparently, they can even be a love language. Nauheed explained that MC or BC can casually slip into sentences, with either one making an appearance so often that they almost become punctuation. Basically, forget the comma. The Parsi household has MC and BC.

And yes, what makes the exchange funny is how matter-of-factly it was discussed. There was no dramatic confession or attempt to make it sound scandalous. Her mother simply mentioned it while talking about slang, while Nauheed treated the whole thing like the most obvious fact in the world.

Nauheed Cyrusi’s Parsi Mom Just Revealed Their Most Unexpected Family Slang

For anyone unfamiliar with Parsi family banter, this was quite the introduction! It also offered a glimpse into the kind of cultural details that rarely make it into textbook descriptions of a community. You can talk about food, festivals, traditions and history, but sometimes you understand a family’s personality better through the words they throw at each other over a completely ordinary conversation.

And if Nauheed Cyrusi and her mother are anything to go by, Parsi affection apparently has many forms. There is food, there is banter, and somewhere in between, there is a very enthusiastic use of MC and BC.

Honestly, every community has its own version of “I love you”. The Parsis may just have chosen the most chaotic one.
