Same parents, same childhood, but completely different spiritual playlists. Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor might be siblings, but when it comes to faith, they clearly follow different scripts. During a conversation with Kamiya Jani for Sunday Brunch, the duo opened up about their religious beliefs, revealing how their family embraces different faiths without sticking to just one way of worshipping.

Over a meal of palak paneer and karela, the conversation took an interesting turn when Ekta Kapoor spoke about how she and her brother approach spirituality.
While she identifies as a devout Hindu, she also observes roza. Tusshar Kapoor, on the other hand, visits Tirupati but follows Buddhist teachings. Clearly, the Kapoor siblings have found their own ways of connecting with the divine, and neither seems particularly interested in copying the other.

Jeetendra Prays To Mother Mary Every Sunday
But their family’s relationship with religion gets even more interesting when their parents enter the picture. Ekta Kapoor revealed that their father, veteran actor Jeetendra, prays to Mother Mary every Sunday. Their mother, Shobha Kapoor, introduced them to Guru Nanak and his teachings when they were young.
So, growing up in the Kapoor household meant being exposed to different religious beliefs from an early age. Hindu traditions, Buddhist philosophy, Christian devotion and Sikh teachings all found a place in their family’s worldview. There was no single template for faith, at least from the picture Ekta Kapoor painted during the conversation.
In a world where religious identity can often become a question of drawing lines, the Kapoors offer a rather different picture. Their family story is a reminder that faith does not always arrive neatly labelled, and sometimes, the people sitting around the same dining table can believe in different things while making room for one another.
