Akansha Ranjan Kapoor invited Kamiya Jani over for a Sunday Brunch at her beautiful new home, hoping to win her over with the easiest route to anyone’s heart: burgers. She had ordered what she considered the best burgers in town from her favourite Mumbai food joint, setting the mood for a home tour that felt anything but ordinary. Somewhere between the books, the windows and the cosy corners, though, Kamiya Jani stumbled upon what may be the most important question in any newlywed household; who exactly gets to claim the nicest room?
Akansha Ranjan Kapoor Gives Kamiya Jani A Tour Of Her Mumbai Home
The room in question is somewhere between a study and a den. There are books, a proper desk for when work inevitably needs to happen, and enough comfortable space to simply sit around, read or do absolutely nothing for a while. The big windows are an added bonus, bringing in plenty of light and giving the room a nice view outside. It has that slightly dangerous quality of a room you enter “just for five minutes” and then emerge from an hour later having read three pages of a book and stared out of the window for the rest.
So, naturally, Kamiya Jani asks the question that has apparently already caused some domestic debate: “Whose room is it?” Akansha’s answer is essentially a glimpse into the couple’s ongoing negotiations. According to her, her husband, filmmaker Sharan Sharma, calls it his room.

Both Claim The Same Cosy Room
Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, on the other hand, has renamed the territory “our den.” Same room, two completely different legal interpretations of ownership. And considering how comfortable it looks, it is not hard to understand why neither of them seems particularly keen on surrendering it.
Akansha and Sharan got married in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai in July 2025, after being together for several years. Sharan, best known for directing Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, has now apparently added another creative project to his list, which is defending his claim over a room full of books and windows.
So yeah, marriage, apparently, comes with shared furniture, shared views and absolutely no agreement on who owns the good room.
