If you’ve ever lived in Lucknow, chances are you’ve been dragged, willingly or not, to Hazratganj or found yourself at Royal Café, pretending you’ll order just one chaat and then giving up midway. For Meethika Dwivedi, these spots aren’t just familiar, they’re stitched into her life. Which is why, in the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, she took us straight for the classics.
Meethika Dwivedi Lists Her Favourite Hangout Spots In Lucknow
When we asked her about her favourite hangouts, Meethika didn’t bother polishing the answer. She laughed and said, “Bohot aalsi insaan se pooch rahe ho yeh sawaal!” Basically, don’t expect her to trek across the city!
Still, she swears by the buzzing lanes of Hazratganj and the legendary Royal Café. “Most areas are very crowded, and we like to go to Royal Café or the Hazratganj areas.” She mentions that they have everything from markets, food, Sharma Ji ki chai, chaat and more. “Jo bhi Lucknow mein raha hai, yahaan to gaya hi hoga,” she says with an endearing kind of pride.
Then the conversation turned to give full focus to Sharma Ji ki Chai. The stall has been fuelling mornings for decades. And once you’ve had a sip of that milky and sweet chai, you understand why people queue up. Meethika summed it up when she said that for people who like meethi chai, this is the best spot.

Sharma Ji Ki Chai And Royal Café: The Lucknow Magnets
Of course, no chai session here is complete without a bun maska. That buttery, toasted bun is the kind of comfort you only miss once you leave the city.
Then came the main event, Royal Café! Even if you’ve never set foot in Lucknow, chances are you’ve heard someone gush about their basket chaat, and for good reason. Meethika grinned as she declared, “Isse badi chaat nahi dekhi hogi aapne kahin.” And she wasn’t exaggerating.
One thing is clear, Sharma Ji’s chai and Royal Café’s chaat can convert anyone into a Lucknow loyalist. But these weren’t just “spots” to Meethika, they were part of her personal geography. The tea stall isn’t just where you drink chai; it’s where mornings in Lucknow begin. Royal Café isn’t simply a restaurant; it’s where half the city seems to have shared gossip, laughter, and probably heartbreak too.
By the end of the stroll, it was obvious: Meethika wasn’t just taking us to eat. She was mapping out her own Lucknow, one cup of chai and one overflowing chaat basket at a time.

And that’s the magic of Tere Gully Mein, it reminds you that cities aren’t defined only by monuments or hidden alleys. Sometimes, it’s the spots everyone already knows, the ones you roll your eyes at because they’re “too popular,” and yet, when you return, they feel exactly like home.
