Hello Curly Tales Fam, how are you guys doing? We are back again with yet another fun Sunday Brunch episode, and in this episode, we have none other than the finest sibling duo, Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem. Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, went on a brunch with the duo at Mumbai’s iconic Bademiya to indulge in Baida Roti, Kebabs, Mutton Bhuna and some unforgettable conversations. Read on to know what lovely conversations the trio shared.
Huma Qureshi On How People Scared During The Initial Days
As all three of them enjoyed the delectable brunch at Bademiya, Kamiya Jani asked both Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem about how the duo managed to stay in the industry for all these years. To which Saqib Saleem laughed and made a fun joke and said, “We’re old, right? We’re as old as Bade Miya.”
Well, Huma Qureshi then also said that so many people have scared them about the industry. “Hum logo ko kitne logon ne daraya hai?” To which her brother further said, “That’s people’s job.” Saqib Saleem also mentioned how people used to question them, asking ‘why are they making films like this?’ ‘ ‘Why are they doing it?’ Not only this, but people also give them unwanted suggestions like ‘you can’t do this and you should sell the film first.’ Continuing the conversation, Huma Qureshi added, “I feel like people just try to put fear in you.”
Huma Qureshi On Being An Outsider In Bollywood
The duo also talked about how difficult it is to be an outsider in the Bollywood industry and to survive. Huma further said that whenever a boy or a girl tells their family that they want to be a hero or a heroine, what will the people around them say? ‘How will you do it, son? There are no opportunities for people like us. Where will you go? What will you do?’ She further stated that even though they heard all of those things, they figured it out without being scared. Saqib Saleem added, “Now it’s done. Now this is what you have to do. Now this is what you have to do. So do it. Live here. Die here.”
