Iti Acharya Goes Pub-Hopping In Bengaluru, Talks Cannes And Career Hustle On Tere Gully Mein

Bengaluru doesn’t ease you in, it throws you straight into the noise of traffic, the smell of fried curry leaves, the clink of glasses at 1:30 in the afternoon, and somehow, it all works. In the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we stepped into that rhythm with Iti Acharya, actor, producer, former Miss South India, Cannes red carpet attendee, and a face that has flashed across a New York Times Square billboard! Titles aside, what stood out most that day was her appetite for risk, for flavour and for momentum.

Which Bengaluru Pubs Are Iti Acharya Approved?

We began at 1522, one of those Bengaluru pubs that manages to feel polished without feeling pretentious. Drinks start at ₹130 here, which in this economy feels almost rebellious. The place was already buzzing, we sat, and that’s when the first question landed: What’s the most adventurous thing she has ever done?

She replied that as a teenager, she travelled abroad alone to countries where she didn’t speak the language. So yeah, she had no safety net and no detailed itineraries. More recently, she booked an international trip with no confirmed tickets, no hotel reservations and just pure instinct. It resulted in a chaotic airport episode she now narrates with laughter, but at the time, it was a genuine “what have I done?” moment.

Between sips and bites, we got into the serious business of chakhna. Her go-to mocktails? She reveals she loves Virgin Bloody Mary and Virgin Margarita, but only if they are done right. For chakhna, she doesn’t overthink it and says that her favourites are peanut masala and masala papad. She picked the classics and the OG ones, and who couldn’t agree with her? She also named her five best pubs in Bengaluru, and if you care about the city’s drinking culture, you’ll want to hear that list straight from her.

Chilled Mocktails, Makhmali Paneer & A Game Of Never Have I Ever

The second halt was Chin Lung. It’s beer starts at, hold your breaths, ₹150. It serves no-nonsense Chinese food that doesn’t dilute spice for comfort; the red chillies hit properly here. Conversations here shifted from nightlife to navigation of careers, specifically. She admitted she didn’t have the patience to wait four years for a degree to validate her ambition. So she bypassed the waiting game and reached out to her seniors. She then took freelance projects and worked with brands and labels wherever she could. She basically built momentum before anyone formally invited her into the industry. That push led to her first substantial break in the entertainment industry.

There’s a common assumption that modelling naturally flows into films, and she disrupted that narrative. She actually began with films but chose not to publicise them. When she spoke about working with Shivraj Kumar sir, though, the composure slipped just slightly. There was visible awe, the kind that comes from standing next to someone you’ve grown up watching.

By the time we reached the House of Commons (HOC), the mood had loosened. With its Monday special beers at ₹69 and drinks starting at ₹120, it felt almost too good to be true. We ordered their Long Island Iced Tea, which was strong, unapologetic, along with a double-coloured mocktail that Iti clearly enjoyed more than she pretended to. She insisted we try the makmali paneer; it was soft, rich, and gone within minutes.

Then came “Never Have I Ever.” We asked her questions like “Never Have I Ever flirted with an actor or director,” and “Never Have I Ever Stalked Fellow Stars On Instagram.” Watch the episode to discover her bold and truthful confessions.

Somewhere between the drinks and the confessions, we talked about Cannes and how she had manifested that moment five years before it happened. We also bust some Bengaluru myths with her. By the end of the episode, what left an aftertaste wasn’t just the paneer at the pubs or the spice levels at Chin Lung, it was her happy, cheerful and energetic aura that moved the episode. That energy mirrors Bengaluru itself!
