A plate of sizzling kebab, a bowl of fluffy poha, two steaming cups of chai and Uorfi Javed, fresh off her Traitors win, sitting across from us with that unmistakable mix of mischief and honesty! That’s how the latest episode of Teri Gully Mein unfolded in the bylanes of Mumbai.
Uorfi Javed Reveals Her Worst Monsoon Memory
It was just an afternoon that slipped easily between food, laughter, and stories Uorfi Javed has probably never told on camera before. At one point, we asked her about her best monsoon memory. Before the question could be completed, we decided to flip it: “Actually… tell us your worst monsoon memory.” Uorfi grinned, as if the switch had unlocked something vivid in her mind.
She took us straight to Sarkar Nagar in Mumbai, to a cramped 1BHK she once called home. In the rainy season, she said, the place would drip from almost every inch and every corner. The ceiling leaked in so many spots that only two patches of the floor stayed dry. That’s where she and her roommate would sit for hours, as if they had found their dry refuge in the soaked chaos of her home.

The Chaos That Followed
Night was the tricky part, as they’d fold themselves into whatever corner wasn’t wet, trying to sleep without letting their toes touch the damp floor. To keep the place from turning into an indoor pond, they set out an army of utensils, buckets, and bowls. Uorfi Javed told it with a laugh, but you could hear the grit beneath the humour.
That’s what makes a memory like this linger: it’s funny now, but it was survival then. And it draws a sharper picture of the arc she’s travelled, from counting dry spots on the floor to sitting in the spotlight, unafraid to tell the unvarnished version of her past. Those rainy nights and leaking ceilings were part of a phase where she learnt to adapt, stay patient, and push through discomfort. Looking at where she is today, it’s clear those challenges shaped her resilience and made her more open about sharing the realities behind her journey.

Teri Gully Mein works best when it peels away the polish, and this moment did exactly that. It wasn’t just a rain story; it was a snapshot of Mumbai being its most chaotic self.
