Bengaluru often gets flak for its heavy traffic, making people forget its many good sides. A Japanese entrepreneur, Tsuyoshi Ito, CEO and co-founder of Beyond Next Ventures, recently discovered these positives and shared them on his LinkedIn. He praised the city while also having a laugh at its infamous traffic. Scroll down to see what he had to say!
Japanese Entrepreneur Praises Bengaluru
In his post, Tsuyoshi Ito called Bengaluru “the best city in the world,” saying its charm becomes clear only after living there. He praised the city’s year-round mild temperatures, dry air, and comfortable climate. According to him, these qualities make Bengaluru feel refreshing and vibrant, and he personally loves the weather, which he describes as a perfect mix of eternal spring and summer.
In the post, he also mentioned that many Japanese are in doubt whether to visit India or not. So, while introducing Bengaluru in Japan, he said that they can imagine the place as “Hawaii but without the ocean.” While he admitted the comparison is humorous and not entirely accurate, it works as a simple way to explain the city’s amazing climate. For visitors, the pleasant air and sunny days make the city feel welcoming and easy to fall in love with, even with the stressful traffic.

Local Way Experience
However, Ito also acknowledged a major drawback: the city’s traffic. Curious to experience it firsthand, he bought a Maruti Suzuki and began driving himself. This gave him a direct understanding of the city’s roads and driving culture. He joked about the new “skills” he gained, such as using the horn effectively, confidently merging into intersections, and staying calm when unexpected obstacles—like cows or vehicles—approach from the wrong directions.
He also wrote, “These are things I never experienced in Japan, and frankly, I’m proud of these new skills. LOL. Through driving, I’ve learned one essential truth: in India, the horn is far more useful than the accelerator—especially in Bengaluru.” He ended his post with a playful “Horn OK Please,” reflecting his enjoyable, if sometimes chaotic, experience of life in Bengaluru.
