Japanese Vlogger Calls Bengaluru Airport ‘One Of The Most Beautiful’; Compares It To A 5-Star Hotel

Not every day does a 90-second Instagram reel stop people mid-scroll. But when Kaito (@kslto), a Japanese content creator, casually wandered into Kempegowda International Airport and began filming, what he captured struck a chord far beyond his own surprise. And in the process, he ended up putting Bengaluru’s airport on a global pedestal.

Kaito’s video shows him holding his phone, visibly awe-struck by what he’s seeing: massive green bells hanging from the ceiling, indoor fountains burbling gently in the background, walls draped in plants. “This architecture… I’ve never seen any airport like this before,” he says, in a tone that wavers between disbelief and quiet admiration. “It looks like a five-star hotel or something.”

The terminal, especially the newly built Terminal 2, has been designed to feel comfy and greenery-imbibed, with foliage, natural lighting, and water features that make you forget you’re in transit. It’s Bengaluru’s tribute to its roots as India’s “Garden City,” only now elevated several feet above ground, literally and otherwise.

The video unspools like a spontaneous diary entry. Kaito pans his camera toward the ceiling, marvelling at what he first thinks are trees, then realises are enormous bells draped in greenery. Then comes the scent. “It smells really, really good inside,” he says, half-laughing. “It smells like… like Aesop, if you know the cosmetic brand,” not exactly what most people expect from an airport.

His comparisons are global; he references Changi in Singapore and Hamad in Doha, two of the world’s most celebrated airports. But even there, he draws a line: “I have never seen this much greenery at an airport, this is another level.”

“Most Beautiful Airport”: The Internet Responds

The post, captioned “One of the most beautiful airports in the world”, exploded in the comments section. “Yes, Thanks for appreciating, it’s our Kempegowda International Airport,” someone wrote. “Yes, it’s one of India’s best airports. We’re proud!” said another. A third swept in with some reality check: “Wish if Bangalore city’s infrastructure could be even 1% of what its airport is, it would be so great .” However, the most fitting remark was “Our airports are changing the way the world sees India.”

And in a moment of delightful absurdity, when someone commented, “Eat, bro, please,” Kaito replied, “I ate plants at this airport.”

Bengaluru’s airport has long been a point of pride for the city. But what made this moment resonate wasn’t just the architecture, it was the sheer wonder of a traveller who didn’t expect it, didn’t plan for it, and couldn’t stop talking about it!
