Veteran Bollywood and TV actor Satish Shah, who is known for his stellar performances, passed away at the age of 74. The comic legend has given noteworthy performances in films like Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and more. The cult show, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, propelled him to fame amongst a newer generation. The actor succumbed to kidney failure on October 25.

In heartbreaking news, actor Satish Shah’s passing has brought gloom to the film and TV fraternity, with many expressing their grief on social media. His personal assistant of over 30 years, Ramesh Kadatala, stated to Deccan Herald that the actor died due to a heart attack at his residence in Bandra East in the afternoon. However, the family is awaiting final reports from the doctor to understand the reason behind his demise.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit took to his Instagram handle to inform people that his dear friend and actor, Satish Shah passed away due to kidney failure. The actor was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he breathed his last. Ashoke Pandit mourned his friend’s demise and called it “a great loss to our industry.”
He informed that the veteran actor’s mortal remains will be brought back to his residence at Bandra East for the funeral. And Ashoke Pandit will keep the industry and his fans informed about the cremation details. The filmmaker recalled working on many projects with Satish Shah and called him a very good person.

Johny Lever, Gulshan Devaiah, Madhur Bhandarkar Give Condolences
Actor Gulshan Devaiah shared a picture of the actor and paid his respects to him. Journalist Shiv Aroor shared his condolences as well. Actor-writer, Tara Deshpande, wrote on X, “Goodbyes are for ordinary people not for comedy giants like Satish Shah. Thank you for all the laughs, the good, clean fun comedy we watched with our parents, the family values the simple but priceless humour of everyday life. You shall be sorely missed. Rest in Peace.”

Director Madhur Bhandarkar wrote, “I’m deeply shocked to hear about the demise of the talented actor Satish Shah sir . On the big screen & television, he entertained us with his diverse roles and outstanding performances. My deepest condolences to his family and admirers. #OmShanti.”
Comedy legend Johny Lever said, “Feeling extremely sad to share that we’ve lost a great artist & my dearest friend of over 40 years. It’s hard to believe—I had spoken to him just two days ago. Satish Bhai, you will truly be missed. Your immense contribution to film and television will never be forgotten.”
