Some hotel rooms really make you wonder if the architect had ever actually stayed in a hotel. Sakshi Shivdasani recently came across a viral reel about bizarre hotel-room designs and decided to investigate the situation from her own room. Her opening line pretty much sets the mood: “What kind of sickos are designing these hotel rooms?” And then she shows us why she is asking.

Her bed is practically next to the bathroom. Not the kind of next-door where you can simply walk over when you need to brush your teeth. We are talking about “barely a respectable distance between the bed and the bathtub” close.
But the real crime against privacy is the bathroom itself. Instead of a good old solid door, there is a glass partition. Because apparently, when you travel with someone, the hotel wants you to experience the complete package. Including watching each other shower!
Sakshi cannot understand the logic either. In the video, she basically asks what would possess her to want to watch someone she is travelling with shower, pee, or poop. And honestly, that is a pretty fair question.

The Toilet Does Not Even Have A Proper Door
Yes, there are blinds that can be pulled across the glass. So technically, there is a solution. Except Sakshi then walks towards the toilet.
And discovers there isn’t even a proper door there.
Her biggest issue isn’t even the glass. It is the fact that there is absolutely no barrier between the bathroom and the rest of the room. This means if somebody is using the toilet, everyone else is apparently expected to participate in the experience through shared air. Moreover, she questions why she should have to breathe the same air as someone doing their bathroom business.
And, frankly, fair.
There is something particularly strange about hotel rooms that look incredibly luxurious in photographs but then make you realise that the person you came with is going to know far too much about your bathroom schedule.
Give us the fancy bathtub. Give us the giant bed. Give us the city view. But please, for the love of privacy, give us an actual door.
