Ranveer Singh doesn’t enter categories randomly, so when he stepped into India’s alcohol business as Co-Founder and Creative Partner of ABD Maestro, the luxury arm of Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD), he wasn’t looking to just slap a celebrity name on a bottle. This has become clearer with his big bet on Irish Whiskey now.
Ranveer Singh Enters The Irish Whiskey Market
That began with Rangeela Contemporary Indian Vodka, a triple-distilled, platinum chill-filtered vodka positioned as expressive, bold, and rooted in modern Indian identity. It rolled out across Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal and parts of North India, tapping into a segment where younger urban consumers are actively trading up.
But vodka was never the endgame!
In late 2025, ABD Maestro introduced Aodh Irish Whiskey, marking the company’s formal entry into Irish whiskey, a category that has elegantly gained momentum in India. According to industry export data, India is now among the fastest-growing markets for Irish whiskey, ranking within the top five globally in recent growth cycles.

Aodh Irish Whiskey: A Premium Delight In A Bottle
Aodh (pronounced “Aye-oh”), meaning flame in Irish, is triple distilled, the traditional Irish method, and matured in ex-bourbon casks. The profile is oh-so-smooth with vanilla cream, light honeyed sweetness, and a soft toffee finish. Priced around ₹3,950 for a 750 ml bottle, it sits firmly in the accessible super-premium bracket.
ABD Maestro itself is a strategic play. In 2025, ABD invested roughly ₹70 crore to create the subsidiary and took an 80% stake, combining its distribution muscle with Singh’s brand sensibility. The broader portfolio isn’t limited to Aodh and Rangeela, it includes Woodburns Contemporary Indian Malt Whiskey, Arthaus Blended Malt Scotch, Zoya Special Batch Gin and Russian Standard Vodka.
What’s notable isn’t just expansion, it’s the positioning too. In interviews, Ranveer Singh has spoken about “levelling up in every way, from design to taste.” That aligns with what’s happening in urban India’s drinking culture; people are drinking less volume, but they are willing to pay more for provenance, process, and personality.
The move into Irish whiskey, then, isn’t random diversification. It’s a calculated entry into a fast-rising segment with global cachet and room to scale locally.

Ranveer Singh built Rangeela to prove Indian vodka can be world-class. With Aodh, he’s testing whether India is ready to adopt Irish whiskey as its next premium mainstay. And early indicators suggest it just might be.
