American influencer Kristen Fischer (@kristenfischer3) is a mother of four and has a family of six. She now lives in India and took to her social media to share how eating out in India is much cheaper than in the US. The influencer revealed that as a family of six, they ordered three starters, three entrees, and desserts, and in India, the entire meal cost them less than $10 (over ₹887).
In the caption, she also stated that the same meal in the US would have cost over $100 (over ₹8,878). She wrote, “The price difference is completely outrageous.” She further expressed her frustration with the tipping culture in America, calling it completely out of hand. Highlighting the affordability and ease of dining in India, she mentioned that this is just one of the many reasons she loves living in the country.

Netizens Agree To The Claim
The comparison between food prices in two of the biggest countries in the world has quickly gone viral all over the internet. Some tourists even agreed with her and wrote how they miss the food in India.
One netizen wrote, “So true, I miss food. I keep telling my husband the same thing. Plus, if you don’t wanna go out, you have Swiggy, Zomato.”
One user commented, “You’re absolutely right! Eating in restaurants is definitely cheaper in India! And tipping is not necessary either! The best thing is the variety of food on the menu!! The choice is much more like North Indian, South Indian, Indo-Chinese, etc & every food has its own special flavour & level of spice!”
Another user added, “Watching this from Ontario & just spent $30 for two burgers & a coffee.”
