Bonga Bonga Mystery Becomes India’s 1st Liqueur To Win Triple Global Awards In Its Debut Year

In a breakthrough for India’s alcobev scene, Bonga Bonga Mystery Liqueur has smashed its way into the global spotlight by becoming the first Indian liqueur to score wins at three of the world’s top spirits contests, and it managed the feat in its very first year on shelves. This landmark achievement signals India’s growing presence in the global premium spirits market.

Bonga Bonga Mystery Liqueur Wins Big At Global Spirits Awards 2025

The brand walked away with Silver at The Spirits Business Global Asian Masters, another Silver at the World Liqueur Awards, and a Bronze at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2025.

The ISC has been around for over three decades and draws thousands of entries from more than 70 countries; the World Liqueur Awards pit challengers against long-established European giants; and the Asian Spirits Masters strips labels away for blind judging, letting the liquid alone prove its worth. For one bottle to notch recognition across all three in the same year is no small disruption.

“From day one, Bonga Bonga was imagined for the world,” said Anupam Gurani, CMO at IndoBevs. “We wanted to invent something that felt current, global, and alive. Winning three of the industry’s most credible awards affirms that ambition and reflects both a growing appetite for experimentation among drinkers and a willingness to embrace brands that tell stories beyond lineage.”

All You Need To Know

At the core of Bonga Bonga is a secret recipe of more than 40 botanicals, made from rosemary, thyme, and lavender, to cinnamon, ginger, and honey, producing a layered aura.

It is meant to be served at -10°C and taken neat as a shot. Yes, no sugary afterthought, no simple mixer, but a ritual in itself! It is crisp and designed to wake the senses. The design doubles down on that idea. A built-in infuser invites drinkers to experiment by dropping in herbs and creating personalised twists with every pour. Even after the last drop, the bottle refuses to retire, with its shape and finish made for reuse, reinvention, and play.

For IndoBevs, best known for turning the irreverent BroCode into a cult phenomenon, this isn’t just another launch; it’s a marker of intent. Bonga Bonga doesn’t slot into existing categories so much as bend them! The company calls it a “category of one,” leaning into youth culture, ritual, and playful experimentation rather than legacy or heritage.

Founded in 2007, IndoBevs has built a disruptive portfolio that includes BroCode, Big Bro, Enso Japanese Whisky, Eden Blended Malt Whisky, and Tom & Mew Gin. With Bonga Bonga now on the global stage, the company is sharpening its vision of producing homegrown spirits with truly international ambitions.

And for India, this triple win is bigger than a brand milestone: it’s a signal that the country’s spirits makers are ready to play on the world’s toughest turf and win.
