Delhi foodies, rejoice! The city is now planning to launch a night market dedicated solely to food trucks from some of the most popular eateries and cafes. The late-night plans for many foodies will finally be sorted out if this becomes a reality soon.
Delhi Plans To Launch Night Market For Foodies!

Most of us have seen food trucks in other countries and have thought, why doesn’t our city have this concept? But now, this might soon become a reality, as Delhi may get its own late-night market! As per a report by NDTV, the government is planning to launch a night market in the NDMC area, inspired by Indore’s iconic ‘Chappan Dukan’, which accommodates 56 food stalls across a stretch of around 200 metres.
Prime locations like Connaught Place and Lodhi Road are being considered as spots for the market. The Delhi foodies will soon have a proper place for all those late-night drives and cravings, as the market is expected to operate after 10 pm. Moreover, it will feature food trucks run by some of Delhi’s most popular eateries and cafes, offering a mix of comfort food and crowd favourites.

Bringing Safe And Vibrant Nightlife To Delhi
Delhi Cabinet Minister and NDMC member Parvesh Verma shared with NDTV that the goal of this market is to create a vibrant nightlife that feels safe for both residents and tourists. They also added that they aim to make Delhi’s late-night culture as engaging as its daytime activities.
The plan has already received attention from business owners. Young people are also eager for safer and better late-night spaces in the city. Reportedly, local food truck owners have welcomed the move but are waiting for more clarity from the government regarding licensing and operating rules. The initiative will offer a buzzing night street food experience. It will also help create jobs and support local businesses, like lesser-known cafes and eateries. A formal announcement for the night market is expected in the coming weeks. If successful, the model could be replicated in other parts of Delhi.
