Now, keeping the Diwali festive spirit in mind, a food vlogger  recently took to her social media handle to transform her family’s favourite gajar ka halwa recipe into a Dubai-style chocolate bar—a surprising twist that netizens loved. In her latest recipe post, digital creator Sanjana Modha (@sanjana.feasts) transformed her family’s beloved gajar ka halwa recipe into a Dubai-style chocolate bar. In the caption, she wrote, “Here’s a filled chocolate bar in time for Diwali with all the flavours of my childhood. Carroty halwa goodness, cardamom, saffron, white chocolate and GOLD. Don’t forget the gold because we’re classy like that. Gotta get one of your five-a-day somehow, right? You’re welcome.”

Here’s How You Can Make It At Home

This festive season, if you want to serve something unique and new to your guests, here’s the breakdown Sanjana’s amazing recipe that you can recreate at home.

Ingredients:

1. Fresh carrots
2. Milk
3. Sugar
4. Saffron
5. Cardamom powder
6. White chocolate
7. Milk chocolate
8
. Edible gold dust 

Method:

1. Grate fresh carrots using the fine side of the grater so they cook quickly till you get a smooth texture.
2. Cook the carrots in their own juice before adding milk or sugar to keep the flavour and prevent stickiness.
3. Add milk, sugar, and saffron, and cook slowly over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
4. Add cardamom powder at the end and let the halwa cool completely before putting it in the chocolate mould.
5. Coat a chocolate mould with white chocolate and freeze until solid, then fill it with the cooled halwa and top with milk chocolate.
6. Once the chocolate sets, you can dust it with edible gold.
