Lemons are a powerhouse of vitamin C and have many uses in Indian kitchens, but storing large quantities of them to keep them fresh and bright can sometimes be tricky. But don’t worry, we are here to tell you three ways to store lemons properly so that their skin doesn’t turn brown and they remain juicy for longer.
How To Store Lemons To Keep Them Fresh?
Lemons can last one to two weeks at room temperature and about four weeks in the refrigerator before drying out and turning brown. This small fruit, which is used in many foods and drinks, has many benefits. But if you have a large quantity of them at home, you may be wondering how to store them properly, right?
A content creator, Anjlee (@flavourful.spoonss), recently shared three amazing ways to store lemons to keep them fresh and juicy for months. The first way is to put all the lemons in an airtight container filled with water. This will keep them fresh for a long time. This is the easiest way to store this fruit, in our opinion.
The second way is the ‘oil coating’ method. Take some oil in your palms and gently rub it on the lemons to coat their skin completely. (Make sure to use not too much oil.) After coating, you can put them in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to two months.

Wrap Lemons In Tissue Paper To Keep Them Fresh For 4 Months
The third way should be used if you have a large quantity of lemons at home and want them to stay fresh for around three to four months. Wrap each lemon in tissue paper or any other food-grade paper properly and then put them in an airtight container. So, the first two methods are the easiest, and the third may require more effort.
One Instagram user also shared another way in the comments. According to her, you can juice the lemons and freeze the juice. This hack does not even take up too much space and is ready to use whenever you want to. Other netizens thanked Anjlee for her tips as well. One more tip: before storing lemons, make sure they are clean and spotless.
