Indore’s dining scene has just become even more exciting. After giving the city its first casual fine dining restaurant and cocktail bar, Atelier V, Chef Vedant Newatia is back with something even bigger: Masala Code. This new concept celebrates the idea that Indian food is not one single cuisine but a collection of countless regional flavours, traditions, and memories. With 29 micro-cuisines coming together under one roof, Masala Code is the first pan-Indian restaurant in Indore.
Masala Code: Indore’s First Pan-Indian Restaurant
Entering Masala Code will be like entering a cosy, modern Indian home. Spread across 3,150 sq. ft, the space expertly balances design and emotion with features like terracotta flooring created by local craftspeople.
Designed by London-based architect Karan Gandhi, the interiors are a visual story. There’s the Spice Wall, a colourful and aromatic tribute to the heart of Indian cooking that evolves with the seasons. The Bar Installation features a mirrored ceiling that reflects the play of light as it moves from deep terracotta to soft, glowing tones. The Bread Counter and Bookshelf full of culinary tales give the area a feeling of warmth and community, while the Wine and Cigar Display adds an elegant touch.
A Living Map Of Indian Flavours

Chef Vedant believes that Masala Code is about more than just food. As he puts it, “No matter where you go in India, recipes are a secret language spoken through spices. Masala Code was born from this idea: that Indian cuisine is not one story but many.”
With hearty dishes like Aloo Paratha, Pindi Chole Kulche, Benne Dosa, and Ros Omelette, the Day Menu honours India’s passion for breakfast. The Main Menu will take centre stage as the sun begins to set, transporting you throughout India. Whether you’re indulging in street-style favourites like Kathi Rolls, Bhel Puri, Honey Chilli Potato, and Chowmein or feasting on regional classics like Mutton Rogan Josh, Chicken Xacuti, and Kolkata Biryani, every plateful will take you into different kitchens from different parts of India.
If you’re in the mood to dig into some hidden gems, the lesser-known regional dishes Shukto from Bengal, Dindigul Biryani from Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhandi Kadhi are simply unmissable.

Drinks That Tell Their Own Stories
Masala Code’s drinks, like its food, are nostalgic but designed for modern palates. The highlight is the Banta Cart, a fun and playful nod to India’s old-school marble-sealed soda bottles. Here, the Bantas are house-made and bursting with flavours like Ananas aur Kesar, Jamun Masala, Keri, Coconut & Curry Leaf, and Filter Kaapi.
The bar doesn’t just dish out fancy drinks; it also boasts small-batch liqueurs created in-house using ingredients and spices from Indian kitchens. Every one of them, from Coffee & Molasses and Ginger & Juniper to Kesar and Shahi Jeera, is full of personality. These liqueurs also serve as the base for signature drinks like Majuli, Mana, and Lolab.
The way Masala Code brings together the food, drinks, and design is what makes it so unique. Every corner, every flavour, and every sip is designed to remind you of something familiar, yet surprise you with something new. So, whether you’re craving home-style parathas or new flavours, Masala Code promises to take you there.
