During a post-dinner dessert run in Kandivali, we discovered a tiny hole-in-the-wall spot that instantly won us over—Taatsu. The eatery serves ‘Japanese cheesecake tarts’, and that was reason enough to pull our foodie souls in, and we’re so glad it did! Here’s why this spot deserves all your attention.
Taatsu In Mumbai Offers Unique Japanese Baked Tarts
Taatsu is one of those places you might walk past without noticing and we’re so glad we didn’t! The bakery doesn’t rely on flashy decor or an oversized menu to draw you in. Instead, it charms you with its minimalist vibe and a selection that instantly makes your mouth water.
The bakery specialises in crispy tarts stuffed with creamy fillings, both sweet and savoury. What makes them even better? They’re warmed up before serving, so you get that gooey, melt-in-your-mouth centre while the tart shell stays perfectly crisp.
We tried the Belgian Chocolate Cheesecake Tart, Nutella Cheesecake Tart, and the Strawberry Cheesecake Tart for our sweet fix, and the Jalapeño Cheddar Tart for a savoury kick, and safe to say, we weren’t disappointed! Since we went a little late, they were pretty much out of half their offerings, but that gave us yet another reason to visit soon!

As soon as you step inside the bakery, the delicious smell of the baked tarts will make you want to try everything on display! One bite in and the soft, creamy, and oh-so-good cheesecake tarts will quickly become your new favourites.
The menu features fewer than 15 items, keeping things simple yet absolutely delicious. And the best part—everything is completely eggless! From Apple Crumble and Salted Caramel to Lemon Mousse Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Nutella Cheesecake Tarts, the flavours here are total crowd favourites, so make sure you try them all!
Taatsu has outlets in Kandivali East and Bandra West, but the good news is that they deliver across Mumbai!
