Izumi’s Japanese Dining Journey Expands To Hyderabad

From Kareena and Karisma Kapoor to Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Shanaya Kapoor, Mumbai’s Izumi has long been a go-to destination for Japanese fare among Bollywood celebrities. And now, Hyderabad gets to experience its immersive dining concept too, as the restaurant chain opens its doors with a stunning lakeside location.

With Hyderabad rapidly emerging as a hub for global cuisine, Izumi arrives with a uniquely focused approach to Japanese dining, beautifully blending authenticity, craftsmanship, warmth, and contemporary energy in a thoughtfully designed space.

Set against a picturesque lakeside backdrop that’s hard to resist, the Hyderabad outpost is notably larger than its Mumbai and Goa counterparts, allowing for a more expansive and immersive Izumi experience in the city.

Spearheaded by Chef Nooresha, co-founder and the culinary force behind Izumi, the Hyderabad restaurant features subtle Japanese influences throughout. Intimate lighting, lantern-inspired details, and, of course, the signature sushi counter come together to create a space that feels immersive yet effortless.

To offer you all an authentic Japanese experience, much of the crockery at the restaurant has been sourced from Japan as well as Japanese stores across Singapore, adding another layer of authenticity and attention to detail to the overall dining experience.

What’s On The Menu?

The centrepiece of Izumi Hyderabad is its signature live sushi bar, where guests can watch skilled chefs at work while exploring a menu that balances traditional Japanese techniques with modern flavour combinations. The selection includes premium sashimi and nigiri such as Bluefin Chutoro, Hamachi, and Scorched Scallop Nigiri, along with inventive rolls like the Crispy Edamame Avocado Roll, Tempura Prawn with Spicy Mayo, and the Chutoro & Pickled Daikon Roll.

Beyond the sushi counter, the robata grill adds another layer to the dining experience. Drawing on traditional Japanese grilling methods, the menu offers a range of dishes with deep, smoky flavours. Vegetarian options include Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms served with umami beurre blanc and Charred Napa Cabbage paired with mustard miso mayo. For those who prefer meat and seafood, highlights include Lamb Chops with red bell sauce and Yaki Madai Skewers finished with spicy miso butter.

The beverage programme is equally thoughtful. Curated by Maia Laifungbam, the cocktail menu brings together some of Izumi’s most-loved signatures while introducing a selection created exclusively for Hyderabad. Guests can sip on favourites such as the Kyoto Martini, Ginza Nights, and Yuzu Kazi, alongside enduring classics like the Yuzu Penicillin.
