It’s not unusual to see celebrities dining at Chef Vikas Khanna’s Bungalow. But what makes every visit memorable is the thoughtful, personal touch the chef adds to each experience, one of the many reasons people admire him so deeply. Recently, the chef welcomed singer Satinder Sartaaj to his restaurant, but this meeting was far more personal and emotional for Vikas Khanna than any other.

On multiple occasions, Chef Vikas Khanna has shared the deep bond he shared with his late sister Radhika Khanna, whom he affectionately called ‘Radha’. The chef has never shied away from sharing memories he shared with his little sister, who passed away in 2022.

One of them was listening to Sai Ve by Satinder Sartaaj with his sister multiple times a day while she was undergoing treatments. “Those were among the darkest days of my life. In those moments, I often felt as though Sartaaj Sahib wasn’t simply singing. He was speaking to us, and perhaps even speaking to the Divine on our behalf,” the chef wrote in the post.

Vikas Khanna shared that ever since his sister Radha passed away, Sai Ve has been the first song he listens to every morning. He revealed that the song gives him the strength to begin each day, inspiring him to honour those who came before him, cherish the memory of his late sister, and remain grateful for the country that gave him his roots.

So, to honour the singer, the chef made a custom drink featuring an edible image of Satinder Sartaaj alongside his mother, making it a deeply personal tribute to the musician.

Chef’s Special Tribute To The Musician!

Satinder Sartaaj’s music has been deeply meaningful to Chef Vikas Khanna. For years, whenever he met someone who knew the singer, he would request them to convey his regards to Sartaaj. This time, however, he didn’t have to send a message.

The chef revealed that Sartaaj recently visited Bungalow, where he had the privilege of personally serving him every course during dinner. Khanna added that seeing the singer brought back memories of some of the most difficult years of his life, but this time, those memories were accompanied by gratitude, hope, and love instead of sorrow.

“Thank you, Veer ji, for giving my little sister Radha and me a song that became a prayer when we had none. Thank you for reminding us that poetry can heal, music can carry faith, and true art can gently guide a soul back toward the light,” he emotionally thanked the singer.

“You have shown the world not only what it means to be a great artist, but also what it means to be a humble humanitarian,” he concluded in the post.
