Kamiya Jani Opens About Curly Tales’ Journey, Motherhood, MIL’s Support & More With Rajeev Khandelwal

On every Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, sits down with celebrities for candid conversations about their lives, careers, and personal journeys, bringing viewers closer to their favourite stars. While her job may seem glamorous and effortless to many, people often overlook the nearly decade-long struggle it took to build Curly Tales, her years of experience as a journalist before that, and the constant balancing act between her personal and professional life. During Sunday Brunch with Rajeev Khandelwal, the charming actor asked Kamiya about her journey, and she opened up about her struggles, her path to success, and deeply relatable experiences that resonate with women everywhere.

Kamiya Jani Opens Up About Her Journey

Success doesn’t come overnight, and if it does, it often fades just as quickly. Building something that not only grows with you but also impacts the people around you takes passion, patience, and years of hard work. And that’s exactly what Kamiya Jani feels today after spending years as a journalist and nearly a decade building Curly Tales into what it is now.

So, when people assume her job is all about dressing up, meeting celebrities, and enjoying great food, they often overlook the years of hard work it took to create that impact. Thanks to Rajeev Khandelwal, the boss lady finally opened up about her journey and spoke about how women often end up putting themselves and their passions on the back burner for their families.

“Mujhe lagta hai ki aurton ko apne passion nahi chhodne chahiye. Hum hamesha doosron ke liye itna karte hain ki hum sacrifice ko celebrate karne lagte hain. All our moms, they kept themselves on the back burner,” she shared candidly.

She further spoke about how so many women in our lives often talk about the passions and dreams they had to give up along the way. “We should celebrate fulfillment. Women should do things that truly make them happy. It’s not always financially rewarding, but it’s good for us,” she added.

The duo also spoke about motherhood and how it is often one of the most thankless jobs in the world. Kamiya urged everyone to make their mothers feel acknowledged, seen, and truly special.

Her Biggest Supporter

When Rajeev asked her who the “main hoon kyun ki tum ho” person in her life is, Kamiya didn’t have to think twice. She instantly said it had to be her mother-in-law. Opening up about her journey, she shared how she began building Curly Tales soon after giving birth to her daughter, and how her mother-in-law played a big role in this journey.

“I have always been working, right out of college! And then suddenly, I was on maternity leave for six months. I felt like this is my life now. But my mother-in-law encouraged me. She said, ‘Main dekh lungi.’ That’s when I felt like she was there for both me and the baby. I just wish more women get a mother-in-law like mine,” she candidly shared.
