Akasa Air, one of India’s fastest-growing airlines, is expanding its services to Assam from Dibrugarh. This move will make travel easier for people in the region and boost trade, tourism, and business connections. Scroll down to know more!

Akasa Air Expands Services To Assam

The inaugural flight took off from Dibrugarh Airport on February 3, 2026, at 11:15 am and landed at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport at 4:25 pm. The new route aims to provide seamless travel for passengers and strengthen Akasa Air’s presence in the northeast.

With this launch, Akasa Air will operate three direct flights each week between Dibrugarh and Bagdogra. In addition, it will offer through-flights between Dibrugarh and Bengaluru via Bagdogra without passengers having to change aircraft. With this expansion, the airline now operates from two cities in Assam, connecting Guwahati and Dibrugarh.

How Many Weekly Flights From Assam?

Right now, Akasa Air flies 32 times a week from Assam to three big cities – Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. With the new flights, travel will be easier, and it will help boost business and tourism in the region. To mark the launch, Dibrugarh Airport hosted a special event. The ceremony included lighting a traditional lamp with Akasa Air and airport representatives present. The first passenger of the flight also got a special boarding pass to celebrate the new route.

Akasa Air also provides more than 25 extra services, such as Akasa GetEarly, Seat & Meal Deal, Extra Seat, and Akasa Holidays, to make travel easier. The airline is known for several industry firsts like SkyScore, SkyLights, and QuietFlights. They even introduced safety cards and menu cards in Braille for passengers with visual impairments.

With these new flights, Akasa Air is making travel in Assam easier and more convenient. The airline focuses on comfort, innovation, and accessibility, offering a better flying experience for passengers.
