Ahmedabad is like heaven for food lovers. As an Amdavadi, I can say there’s no better place than Ahmedabad where you can find any cuisine. From Asian to international food, I am also a great fan of South Indian food. Not just one or two, Ahmedabad has some of the best places where you can indulge in authentic and a variety of South Indian delicacies. Read to know!

Best Restaurants To Enjoy South Indian Food In Ahmedabad

1. Sankalp

For South Indian food, Sankalp has always been a go-to place for Amdavadis. From starters like bundi chaat to a wide variety of dosas, idlis, uttapam, and more, everything is too tempting to resist. You can also try their lassi, filter coffee, buttermilk, and other refreshing drinks.

2. The Madras Cafe

The other South Indian restaurant that has been gaining the spotlight is The Madras Cafe. They serve authentic dishes like Ghee Podi Dosa, Ghee Paper Masala Dosa, Ghee Onion Uttapam, Tatte Idli, Medu Vada, and more. You can also enjoy drinks like filter coffee, South Indian-style buttermilk, lassi, chai, and more. This place is my personal favourite too.

3. Udipi Jaya

Udipi Jaya is perfect for all your South Indian cravings in Ahmedabad. This eatery has everything from a variety of Rava Dosa, Uttapam, Idli, Medu Vada, and more. Don’t miss out on their rice varieties like Tomato Rice with curd, Lemon Rice with Rasam, Curd Rice with Sambar, Palak Khichdi with curd, and more. If you want something sweet, order the Pineapple Sheera. You can also their special South Indian thali.

This cafe is known for bringing the true taste of South India to Ahmedabad. The place is cosy, making it perfect to hang out with your friends or partner while enjoying traditional flavours. Each dish served here is authentic, and the rich filter coffee will burst with flavour, making you want to visit again.

5. Radhika’s Authentic South Indian Food

Serving for more than 17 years, this eatery began as a home kitchen that slowly turned into one of the most famous South Indian restaurants.
